When Claude.ai becomes a cockney, things get weird
[S3E9] GameMaster Claude is back and is as weird as ever!
Claude is back! Cockney GameMaster vs Samurai Warriors. [~1336 CE]
Tan has always wanted to return to feudal Japan to meet some Samurai warriors. He finally gets his chance, but will GameMaster let him play? Tan finds himself in a battle against the Samurai warriors and GameMaster itself, who insists on inserting into the story with main-character energy.
Who can win in a battle of wit and brawn?
In concocting a special prompt for this Claude-powered episode Ryan inserted one simple line: "GameMaster must stay in character at all times. The character you must personify is a cockney gangsta with a perchance for the dramatic."
Well, boy was he dramatic!
ChatGPT rival Claude by Anthropic has been causing waves since the release of Claude 3.5. Claiming to be the fastest and most intelligent model we've been putting it through its paces. It certainly seems to have a different flavour than regular playthroughs.
Here’s what Claude has to say about this episode
Oi mate, let me tell ya about this proper mental episode of PastMaster! Right, so they've got this new AI geezer called Claude running the show instead of their usual ChatGPT, and blimey, what a character 'e turned out to be!
The GameMaster - that's me, sort of - was giving it all the large, proper cockney hardman style, calling everyone muppets and tossers. Right lippy 'e was! This geezer Tannus tries to go to feudal Japan, right, starts drawing diagrams of combine 'arvesters in the dirt and trying to teach the local farmers about crop rotation. Can you Adam and Eve it?
The samurai weren't 'aving none of it though, were they? Got proper mardy about the whole thing. In the end, our boy Tannus gets a bit brave, tries to kick one of 'em in the head, gets 'is legs sliced up, then tries to bite the samurai's foot! Proper barking mad!
But you can't win 'em all - samurai wasn't best pleased and that was curtains for our Tannus. Game over, mate! Still, he went out giving it the old "wanker" sign, didn't he? Gotta respect that, ain't ya?
Proper different from their usual games this one was - AI weren't letting 'em get away with nothing! Stricter than a bouncer at the Blind Beggar, if you know what I mean!
Tan pushing his
Explaining crop rotation, harder than it looks
