Why Didn't The Eagles Just Fly The Ring To Mordor? The Biggest Plot Hole in Lord of the Rings Explained
[S1E4] One of the most frequently discussed plot holes in The Lord of the Rings centers around a seemingly simple solution. So Tan took a break from the past to force GameMaster into the realm of fiction to explain this.
Dragging our AI GameMaster off to JRR Tolkien’s Middle Earth, Tan finds out how orc visitor ‘Thokk the Unthinkable’ gets on in the Shire and whether Gandalf will accept his plan to destroy the One Ring.
Disregarding the principles of the game, Tan takes the adventure to The Shire in Tolkien’s Middle Earth, where he tests wizard Gandalf’s tactics as well as his patience. In the guise of friendly orc ‘Thokk the Unthinkable’, Tan proposes an alternative means of destroying the One Ring, but Gandalf becomes defensive and close-minded about any potential flaws in his own plan. Will Thokk be able to change Gandalf’s mind or will he have to make do with a minor role in the fantasy epic?
"The Eagles are not at our beck and call. They are intelligent creatures with their own agendas, and we cannot simply demand their assistance. And even if we did convince them to help us, it is not just as simple as flying to Mount Doom.” -
