I'm just here to bone Robin Hood

[S3E10] Comedian Heidi Regan joins the PastMaster time machine to meet one of her childhood heroes.

Season 3, Episode 10: ‘Lady Claudius’ vs Robin Hood [1152 CE]

Join us for a journey back to a time when beer was safer to drink than water, and outlaws were the true heroes, featuring special guest comedian Heidi Regan!

In this episode, Heidi takes on the role of Lady Claudius, a self-proclaimed "salt of the earth hero" with dreams of joining Robin Hood's merry band. Armed with nothing but her wits, charm, and an oddly specific fixation on tickling, Lady Claudius embarks on a mission to infiltrate the Sheriff of Nottingham's fortress, free the unjustly imprisoned, and make off with a cache of stolen tax money.

What follows is a riotous romp through medieval England, featuring:

  • Dubious impersonation attempts

  • Daring escapes through sewers (with commentary on the logistics of gold-cleaning)

  • Unexpected romantic entanglements with certain legendary outlaws

  • AI-generated medieval innuendo that will make you blush harder than a "12th century maiden"

Along the way, Heidi demonstrates her improvisational prowess as she talks, flirts, and occasionally fights her way out of increasingly absurd situations. Will Lady Claudius succeed in her quest and earn a place among Robin Hood's legendary crew? Or will her penchant for tickle-based interrogation be her downfall?

A letter from the Sheriff of Nottingham to King John

To His Royal Highness, King John of England,

I write to you, sire, with grave concerns about the state of affairs in Nottingham. This day has brought such chaos and confusion as I have never before witnessed in all my years as your loyal Sheriff.

A most peculiar woman, calling herself "Lady Claudius," infiltrated my fortress with an audacity that would make even that scoundrel Robin Hood blush. She claimed to be from a place called "Australia," which I suspect may be some heathen land beyond the sea.

This brazen intruder proceeded to wreak havoc throughout the castle, employing the strangest of tactics. She attempted to bribe my guards. Most alarmingly, sire, she seemed to possess an unholy obsession with the act of tickling. I fear this may be some form of foreign sorcery, for it appeared to render my men helpless with laughter.

Through means I cannot fathom, this "Lady Claudius" managed to free our prisoners and make off with a substantial portion of your taxes. I regret to inform you that she has likely joined forces with the outlaws in Sherwood Forest.

I beseech you, my liege, to send reinforcements. These rogues grow bolder by the day, and I fear this strange woman may have brought with her magics from distant lands that we are ill-equipped to counter.

Your humble and obedient servant,

The Sheriff of Nottingham
