Plato – philosopher by day, wrestler by night

[S3E12] Can we find the lost city of Atlantis? One man in history has all the answers: The Ancient Greek philosopher Plato. But will he reveal the truth or will we have to fight for it?

Season 3, Episode 12: Plato’s Wrestlemania & the Search for Atlantis

The team set sail for ancient Greece hoping to discover the truth about the lost city of Atlantis. Was it ever a real place, or was it just a fable told to warn future civilisations about the dangers of hubris?

Armed with Mars bars, chocolate coins and olives from Marks & Spencer, they head for the recognised authority on the lost island nation – the philosopher-wrestler Plato.

How will our AI Game Master Claude deal with Atlantis? Cold, boring truth or magical realism? And how good is Plato at wrestling?

Atlantis has got to be around here somewhere?

Plato diary entry.
15th of Boedromion, 355 BCE

Today, an utterly bizarre incident occurred at the Academy. As I was discussing the nature of justice with my students, a strange man burst in. His attire was outlandish, his manner uncouth, and his speech nearly incomprehensible.

This peculiar fellow demanded information about Atlantis, offering me some manner of preserved olives as enticement. When I attempted to explain that Atlantis was merely an allegory, he grew agitated and tried to physically accost me!

I was forced to call the guards to remove him. As they dragged him away, he shouted something about "changing history" and "preventing the rise of Rome." Clearly, the man was touched by madness.

I fear this encounter may have unsettled some of my younger students. Perhaps I shall use it as a practical example in tomorrow's lesson on the importance of temperance and self-control.

On a positive note, the olive incident has inspired me to consider writing a dialogue on the nature of foreign trade and diplomacy. I shall call it "The Merchant."
